SV Bornzeile loses dramatically: 2:4 against MTV Eintracht Celle!
In the Lüneburg regional football league, SV Blau-Weiß Bornzeile suffered a bitter defeat this Saturday. The team met MTV Eintracht Celle and had to admit defeat 2:4. The game took place in front of around 150 spectators who watched the exciting encounter.
Bornzeile's coach, Sven de Vries, admitted after the game that scoring goals was a skill his team needed to develop again. In the first half, it was Leandro Almeida in particular who scored the goal in the 38th minute, bringing Bornzeile to 1:2. Previously, Tom Schaper (22nd minute) and Alexander von Hörsten Laube (35th minute) had given the guests from Celle the lead.
Exciting gameplay
The second half started promisingly for Bornzeile, but the chances that Loris Menger in particular presented themselves were not taken advantage of. Menger had two great opportunities, but once missed the post and missed once from close range. In the end it was a hand penalty, converted by Jeremy da Rocha Nunes in the 84th minute, that brought Bornzeile back into the game, but the joy only lasted for a short time. In stoppage time, Jean-Luca van Eupen restored the old gap with his goal to make it 4-2.
De Vries rated the defeat as justified. He emphasized that the chances in the second half should have been used to turn things around. Bjarne Schnakenberg, who was called into attack in the second half, was also unable to overcome Celle's defense despite good attempts as he was denied by goalkeeper Blazej Gajda.
