Delmenhorst starts innovative training to become an automobile salesman with AI!
There is a breath of fresh air in vocational training in Delmenhorst! From the 2026/27 school year, the BBS 1 vocational training center is planning to introduce the apprenticeship as an automobile salesman. A step that is long overdue, as Delmenhorst was previously without appropriate professional training in this area. Around 40 car dealerships and dealers in the city are ready to provide training, but up until now young aspiring merchants had to commute to Oldenburg-Wechloy, which posed major challenges for many. However, according to the Weser-Kurier, the local economic actors have urgently demanded a solution.
The impetus for introducing the new training offer was given in the summer of 2025 when numerous car dealerships laid off their trainees and looked for training positions. The topic became a top priority and BBS 1 took it to heart in order to offer young people a perspective in their hometown. The feedback from the industry was consistently positive, and setting up the training rooms for the new profession will not incur any additional costs, as all the requirements are already in place in the building.
Modern learning methods and individual support
Another highlight of the new training: the lessons are designed in a modern way! The aspiring automobile salespeople can look forward to using innovative technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality glasses (VR). These technologies are intended to help convey realistic learning content, making lessons both exciting and practical. The responsible colleague with the relevant training leads the team that will set up the training.
The news goes hand in hand with the wishes of the Delmenhorst economy, which are now finally being taken into account by BBS 1 specifically creating a training offer for automobile salespeople. It is not the aim of BBS 1 to compete with Wechloy - rather, they want to create an additional offer in the region in order to cover demand and at the same time increase the mobility of trainees.
Registrations are now possible
The registration phase for the first cohort of automobile salespeople has already begun. Anyone interested can go to the [BBS 1] homepage (https://www.bbs1-delmenhorst.de/schulisches-angebot/startpunkt-bildung-automobilkauffmann-automobilkauffrau/) to register for the new training course. With this initiative, Delmenhorst has not only created an attractive but also urgently needed training offer that both strengthens the local industry and opens up new opportunities for young people. So all that remains to be said is: there's a lot of stuff going on here, not a mess - there's really something in the air!
