DFB Cup drama: Bremen fights against Bielefeld for entry!

We have an exciting weekend ahead of us as the first round of the 2025/2026 DFB Cup gets underway. Three teams from our region are competing to compete against high-class opponents. Buten and within reports that Werder Bremen will face Arminia Bielefeld in the Weser Stadium on Friday evening. Kick-off is at 8:45 p.m.

This will not be the first duel against Bielefeld for Werder Bremen this season. The last encounters were anything but happy for Bremen, as last season they were eliminated in the quarter-finals against this same opponent. Bielefeld, on the other hand, can look back on a perfect start to the season: with two wins, including a clear 5-1 against Fortuna Düsseldorf, they are currently leading the table in the 2nd league.

Promoters SV Hemelingen and Atlas Delmenhorst

On Saturday, August 16th, SV Hemelingen also has the opportunity to show its strength. The match against VfL Wolfsburg begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Weser Stadium. Buten and within highlights that Hemelingen won the Bremen Cup last season and can therefore take part in the DFB Cup for the first time this year. With a strong start to the Bremen League, a 6-0 win against ATSV Sebaldsbrück, they have built up a lot of self-confidence.

The exciting duel between Atlas Delmenhorst and Borussia Mönchengladbach follows on Sunday. Kick-off is also at 3:30 p.m. in the sold-out Oldenburg Marschweg Stadium. Delmenhorst was able to start the new season in the Oberliga with an impressive 5-1 win against Borussia Hildesheim and will do everything it can to survive in the cup.

Looking forward to the cup games

The games will be played in a total of 30 matches scheduled from August 15th to 18th. DFB.de has announced the dates and kick-off times, including many other exciting games.
