Celebration of the 30th anniversary: Mulled wine stand attracts visitors!

This Christmas season is celebrated in a very special way in Delmenhorst! Andreas Kutschenbauer proudly looks back on 30 years of successful mulled wine sales at the Christmas market. At his mulled wine bar, people not only chat happily but also buy a lot. The team around Kutschenbauer has developed into a well-coordinated group that creates the Christmas atmosphere with a smile on their faces. Dominik Huntemann has been there for nine years now and is viewed here almost like a member of the family. This family atmosphere is an important part of the success.

A special attraction are the popular barrels that serve as seating. These are regularly fully booked and expansions are already planned for next season. Visitors can bring their own food, but drinks must be purchased directly at the stand. The Christmas atmosphere at the market is clearly noticeable despite the manageable number of visitors.

A long story

Kutschenbauer started his career in 1995 as a showman with a ghost train. He and his wife soon came up with the idea of taking over a Feuerzangen punch stand, which eventually became the popular mulled wine parlor. His recipes for mulled wine and eggnog have not changed since then and continue to be a hit with visitors.

Despite his long-standing commitment, the 30-year-old mulled wine seller has no plans to retire. Kutschenbauer would like to remain active while also serving as a board member of the Delmenhorst showmen's club and the “Atlas” football club. He playfully introduces his grandson Heinzi to the responsibility of passing on the legacy.

Shared traditions

The rush at the stand requires physical work, but the well-rehearsed team masters the tasks with flying colors. The barrels in particular offer sheltered seating that can be used free of charge. For the coming year, Kutschenbauer has already planned to purchase two additional barrels for 5,000 euros each. This means that the mulled wine room will continue to be a central meeting point for visitors to the Christmas market.

In comparison, the organizers of the Bremerhaven Christmas market, which took place from November 27th to December 30th, also had reason to be satisfied. Although the duration was shorter, the popularity remained consistent. According to the chairwoman of the showmen's association, Alexandra Ausborn, there were comparable visitor numbers to last year, and the market is considered particularly popular because it is less crowded than other places. Reporting on the market took place on Bremen Eins, among others, where the final balance was presented.

At a time when Christmas markets are becoming more and more of a tradition, Andreas Kutschenbauer's mulled wine parlor remains an integral part of the Delmenhorst Christmas season. With a well-coordinated team and the support of his family, he will continue to create a festive atmosphere that warms the hearts of visitors.
