Frosty adventures: Pettersson and Findus invite you to the Advent theater!

The anticipation for Christmas is increasing! On Saturday, November 29th, the Villa family center in Delmenhorst will open its doors for a magical performance: “Pettersson gets a Christmas visitor”. This production by the Bremen children's theater Schnurzepiepe promises to delight audiences both young and old.

The piece is aimed at children aged three to ten and their parents. It's about Pettersson and his cat Findus, who can't leave the house because of the winter cold. The timing couldn't be more exciting because Christmas Eve is just around the corner and Pettersson has also sprained his ankle! With a playing time of around 45 minutes, the adventure will begin at 3 p.m., entry opens at 2:45 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, with entry for children being 3 euros and 5 euros for adults. Reservations are possible, the contact details are by email at familien.del-villa@ewe.net or by telephone from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on 0 42 21 / 80 75 26.

Christmas activities and stories

What could be nicer in the run-up to Christmas than baking cookies together and choosing a Christmas tree? This tradition is also discussed in the popular book series about Pettersson and Findus, in which the two friends prepare for Christmas together. The book not only offers exciting stories, but also puzzles and mini-games that make reading and arithmetic fun for children. This approach is particularly suitable for beginners in reading and arithmetic from the age of seven who want to learn through play. The lovingly designed characters by Sven Nordqvist not only bring stories to life, but also support learning with large font and short chapters to read Oetinger.

In the same festive mood, the Berlin Children's Theater is celebrating its 80th anniversary with the production “Pippi Longstocking Celebrates Christmas”. The piece will be performed in the Fontane House in winter 2025. The colorful and lively performance is aimed at children aged four to nine and lasts around 70 minutes without a break. It will be announced in summer 2026 that a special family theater series will start - a great opportunity for theater lovers to get to know the diverse offerings of the stage.

Cultural diversity in children's theater

The fact that these theater events are of great importance for children is shown not only by the impressive figures and successes of the Berlin Children's Theater, but also by their low-threshold access to the world of children's literature. The aim here is to present the big problems of the little ones in a playful way, without a clear separation of good and evil. The theater also offers various internships that focus on practical experiences.

Whether in Delmenhorst or Berlin, the children's and family theater is a place full of magic, learning and cultural values. Be there and enjoy this special Advent afternoon with Pettersson and Findus!
