Major inspection on the B75: Drugs found and numerous violations!
On Saturday, October 27, 2025, the police carried out a major check on the B75 in Delmenhorst, which was in connection with the popular Bremen Freimarkt. The control began at 7:00 p.m. and brought with it a high volume of traffic in the direction of Oldenburg. To ensure the safety of road users, traffic was funneled while mobile teams worked on the B75, Autobahn 28 and surrounding roads to stop fleeing vehicles, reports Delmenews.
At around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, a total of 273 vehicles and over 300 people were checked during the inspection. The more precise checks took place on the TÜV Nord premises on Annenheider Allee. The Stickgras junction was completely closed in order to control as many road users as possible.
Drugs and traffic violations in focus
As part of this comprehensive inspection, some concerning discoveries were also made. A 19-year-old from Bremen, who was traveling in a rental car, was stopped on suspicion of drug use. He neither had a valid driver's license nor was he alone - officers found evidence of cocaine and marijuana in his vehicle. In addition, three other drivers had to give blood samples, also due to suspected drug use, reported Buten and inland.
The police found drugs such as cocaine, opiates and amphetamines on several vehicles, which led to investigations into violations of the Narcotics Act. Particular attention was also paid to a driver who was in possession of testosterone bottles - an investigation was initiated for violating the Medicines Act and the Anti-Doping Act.
Reactions and outlook
A total of over 50 violations of traffic regulations were punished during the inspection. In addition, ten violations of the Passenger Transport Act were found, mainly involving taxis or similar vehicles that were traveling outside their permitted area. These figures show that the pressure on road safety remains high and that increased action is being taken against violators, as was the case in a drug check in September 2024, when around one in 13 drivers were under the influence of drugs.
Police have already announced that further checks will be carried out in the coming weeks to increase safety on the roads and raise awareness of the dangers of drug use on the roads. This is consistent with previous operations where numerous crimes were uncovered.
