Art café in Delmenhorst: enjoyment and discussion with top artists!

There's a lot happening in the art scene in Delmenhorst! On Wednesday, July 23rd, the municipal gallery invites you to a special art café. From 2 p.m., visitors have the opportunity to stroll through the exciting exhibition “Art Prize Delmenhorst 2025” while chatting over coffee, tea and homemade cake. Admission is only three euros and registrations can be made by calling 0 42 21 / 1 41 32. The Weser-Kurier reports on the event, which offers everyone interested in art the opportunity to get in touch with the exhibitors in a relaxed atmosphere.

The exhibition itself shows works by three talented artists: Tomás Maglione, Vanessa Amoah Opoku and Fynn Ribbeck. With their cross-media work they create both social and individual perspectives. The topics range from migrant family stories to community experiences to existential questions within totalitarian systems. The exhibition is curated by Viktor Hömpler, who makes it clear that this is a premiere for the Delmenhorst Art Prize, which will be awarded for the first time this summer. The art prize is intended to promote young contemporary art and received support from the city of Delmenhorst and the House of Coburg.

A look at the artists

The artists breathe life into the exhibition with their works. Vanessa Amoah Opoku deals with migrant family stories in her works, while Tomás Maglione takes up the desires of plane spotters and socio-political issues. Fynn Ribbeck brings into play the topic of personal autonomy in a totalitarian system. These creative approaches make the exhibition a must for anyone interested in contemporary art.

At the opening, guests can look forward to a welcome from Mayor Petra Gerlach, Matilda Felix, the director of the Coburg House, and curator Viktor Hömpler. After this official part, visitors have the opportunity to take part in a short tour with the artists. Another highlight will be the bar from the Freundeskreis Haus Coburg, where physical well-being will be provided.

An event that appeals to the senses

The event will also be accompanied by photography. For the participants, this means that they may appear in the images through their presence. The mix of art, enjoyment and exchange makes this event a wonderful experience for all art lovers.

For those who would like to delve more intensively into the world of art, it is worth taking a look at the activities of the Art Prize Germany 2023/24. This initiative also promotes outstanding artistic works, which are recognized at a ceremonial award ceremony. Prizes are awarded in various categories and the art scene is revitalized.

The art café in Delmenhorst is an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the colorful world of contemporary art and at the same time talk to other art enthusiasts. Be there and support the young artists on their path!
