Lions Club donates 3000 euros for children's projects in Delmenhorst!

Good news for the children and families in Delmenhorst: The Child Protection Association Delmenhorst receives a generous donation of 3,000 euros from the Delmenhorst Gräfin Hedwig Lions Club. This support recognizes the volunteers' tireless commitment to the children in the city and is an important contribution to financing numerous activities.

The financial support will be used in particular for holiday programs and workshops that aim to strengthen children in conflict situations and promote violence prevention. Uwe Dähne, who represents the Child Protection Association, expressed gratitude for the donation, which reaches the association like a “welcome warm rain” in these challenging times, as it relies on the support of the community.

A variety of activities for children

The Child Protection Association's commitment is not limited to financial support. The association is also planning the “Balu and You” campaign in collaboration with BBS II. Young adults spend time weekly with primary school children in order to offer them valuable support and attention. Sabine Bachner also offers cooking courses for children accompanied by a parent, which is particularly beneficial for families with difficult structures.

The city of Delmenhorst has also proven itself to be a reliable partner: it has been providing the Child Protection Association with a rent-free and additional costs-free location in the Fröbelschule for two years and supports the association with 5,000 euros annually. The new center is equipped with a kitchen and office space, which allows the on-site offerings to be further expanded.

A look at social responsibility

An important aspect of the work of the Child Protection Association is violence prevention. According to the current campaign “Violence is more than you think”, the need to protect children from psychological violence is highlighted. The topic is explosive because a shocking study shows that many people consider physical punishments such as a “slap on the butt” to be harmless. The Child Protection Association therefore calls for social education and concrete offers for non-violent education in schools and families.

In order to ensure the continuation of this important work, the Child Protection Association relies on donations. Activities such as going to the cinema or swimming pools must be financed with additional funds. Companies that support the Child Protection Association receive a seal of quality as an award, which creates further incentives to support the good cause.

The donation from the Lions Club and the ongoing support from the city are indispensable building blocks for the positive development of the children in Delmenhorst. A strong network of volunteers and institutions works together to ensure that children in the city are empowered and can grow up free of violence.
