Summer festival in Delmenhorst: fun and games for the whole family!

On Thursday, July 3rd, Delmenhorst will again be celebrating “celebrations as they come”. Because then there will be a big summer party in the garden of the Villa family center, which will entertain us in a variety of ways from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mayor Petra Gerlach will welcome the guests at 3:30 p.m., marking the start of a series of exciting activities. The highlights include American football, bull riding and creative activities such as airbrush tattoos and crafts that will delight both children and young people.

The food also leaves nothing to be desired: grilled sausages, crepes, cakes, popcorn as well as coffee and tea are available at cost price. For a special enjoyment, non-alcoholic drinks are offered, which will certainly provide mid-summer refreshment.

A great program for all ages

The event is not only aimed at children and young people, but is also intended for families and seniors. Visitors can also expect great games such as can throwing, juggling, scoring goals and the wheel of fortune, which has little surprises in store. A special highlight will be putting out the fire, where the hard-working people can get in the mood. And if you still feel like spending some time socializing after the party, you can look forward to a lounge evening for young people aged 12 and over in the villa hall from 6 p.m. Here you can freely choose between chilling, dancing and playing games such as table football or table tennis, while an open mic is available for spontaneous performances.

The sponsors of this colorful festival are the Delmenhorst youth centers and the Villa family center, which jointly organized the event. The festival is also accompanied by numerous supporters who demonstrate their commitment to youth and social work. These include social work at schools from the Delmenhorst Youth Welfare Foundation, street workers from Diakonie Delmenhorst/Oldenburg-Land as well as the Delmenhorst Bulldogs and the volunteer fire department, which will be on site with emergency vehicles. The organizers also receive support from the police, the open help services of Lebenshilfe Delmenhorst and the Oldenburg district, as well as the Evangelical Youth Church and other regional actors such as the Media Education Center and the Delmenhorst handball game community.

A celebration for the whole neighborhood

The summer festival is part of a traditional series that not only promotes holiday fun, but also solidarity in the neighborhood. Similar to the recently held summer festival at the Villa Family Center, which celebrated the summer holidays, the organizers' goal is for all generations to feel comfortable and make new contacts. At the last celebration, visitors were able to enjoy numerous sports activities and musical performances. The Delmenhorster Bulldogs had their equipment with them, which encouraged people to try it out. Bouncy castles, creative activities such as decorating candles and a concert with various artists rounded off the otherwise sociable offering.
