Emden celebrates 125 years Emder Zeitung with music, bet and fun!

The 125th anniversary of the Emder Zeitung was celebrated on June 30, 2025 with a colorful summer festival in the Emden Stadtgarten. Hundreds of visitors flocked to the park to celebrate this special anniversary and enjoy a program with joy and activities. The impressive number of over 400 singers gathered at 2 p.m. to intonate the iconic song "on the North Sea coast".

Especially at the center of the celebrations, the amusing city bet was with the popular duo Klaus & Klaus. Emden's mayor Tim Kruithoff, who also participated in the colorful singing, proved to be a fair loser. His participation underlined the festive character of the day and provided additional enthusiasm among those present. The weather played along and ensured optimal conditions to celebrate and laugh outside.

The event had a lot to offer for large and small guests. Numerous games for children invite you to participate and the appearances of various clubs and the fire brigade were a real eye -catcher. Here, visitors could not only take a look behind the scenes, but also actively participate in the action and learn something about the valuable work of the local institutions.
