Emden is dancing! DTHO Championship in Lüneburg: Excitement is rising!
The excitement in Emden could hardly be greater, as the Löschen dance school is preparing for the upcoming DTHO championship in Lüneburg, which will take place on June 21st and 22nd, 2025. In a total of two teams and four duos, the 38 committed dancers are competing for important qualification points for the German championship. The anticipation is palpable, because taking part in this top-class competition is a very special event for everyone.
Preparations for this began in January. The dancers themselves expressed their desire to take part in the competition. We train hard every week to be ready for the challenge. It will be particularly exciting for the duos because they only find out on stage what music they are allowed to interpret. This provides an additional tickle in the stomach and gets the adrenaline level all the way up.
The competition and the rules
The DTHO championship is a fixed highlight on the German hip-hop calendar. With a large number of participants, the event not only offers first-class entertainment, but also wonderful opportunities for networking among like-minded people. The jury will rotate between the duos to ensure fair judging. This year, strict guidelines were also set for the performances: music selection without swear words, no crop tops or shorts. Well-founded criteria that quickly make it clear that this is not just about fun, but also about professionalism.
What many people don't know: The DTHO championship is held by Knight Dance Events one of the largest German hip-hop event providers. With a high-quality light and sound system, sophisticated truss elements and a team of new judges, the event ensures that all participants feel comfortable and can have a great time together.
Prom and championship
An interesting fact is that many dance students celebrate their prom the day before the competition. So for some it will be a particularly exciting weekend. First the celebration of graduation and the following day straight onto the big stage. The ideal recipe for unforgettable memories.
In order to make the DTHO championship in Lüneburg a success, the team ranking will be judged on Saturday and the duos on Sunday. Placement depends on category, age group and group size. Because the motto applies here: The journey is the destination, and the experiences that every dancer takes away are worth their weight in gold.
The anticipation for the German Championship, which is also the first qualifying round, is constantly increasing. All eyes are on the stages and it will be exciting to see who ultimately makes it through qualification. If that's not a reason for a lot of positive experiences among the young dancers!
