Architecture, shooting festival and traffic safety: Wolfsburg is celebrating!

On Saturday, June 29th, things will be exciting again in Wolfsburg, because... Architecture Day is at the door. On this day, the city opens its doors to numerous exciting construction projects. City planning officer Kai-Uwe Hirschheide will take visitors on a guided bike tour, during which, among other things, the Wiesengarten residential area and the Eastgate office complex can be visited. The starting point of the tour is the Fallersleben school center at Karl-Heise-Straße 28, where an individual exploration of new architecture awaits anyone interested.

The offer also includes, among other things, a visit to the outdoor areas of the school center as well as daycare centers in Kreuzheide and the impressive Hellwinkel terraces. Anyone interested in the urban planning concepts of the Steimker Gardens and the “Stadtgarten” residential development in Wellekamp will also get their money’s worth here. Visiting the projects is free, but registration is required at forum.architektur@stadt.wolfsburg.de necessary.

Traffic problems in Wolfsburg

Another current topic concerns traffic safety in Wolfsburg. A temporary traffic light will soon be installed at the dangerous accident accident site on K46/Hubertusstrasse. This measure, which will cost around 340,000 euros, is intended to improve the traffic situation over the next twelve months. Unfortunately, no roundabout or new intersection will be implemented, but the effect of the traffic lights will be monitored over the next few months in order to make informed decisions for the future.

Shooting festival in Vorsfelde

Parallel to these topics, the shooting festival in Vorsfelde begins today, Friday, June 20th. Kids and adults can look forward to an entertaining weekend. On Saturday, June 21st, there will be a shooting breakfast at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Lower Saxony Cup award ceremony at 12 p.m. On Sunday, June 22nd, the highlight will be celebrated with a musically accompanied parade from 2 p.m. Entertainment and a good atmosphere are guaranteed here!

The ban on dogs on the Allersee beach

Another topic that is currently being discussed in public concerns the regulations on the Allersee beach. The council has decided that dogs will be allowed on a leash on the lawns and on the beach. This measure aims to reduce the goose population and ensure cleanliness on the Allersee. The regulation will initially be limited to the summer and the effects will be closely monitored.

Architecture Day is an absolute highlight for anyone interested in architecture and urban development, while at the same time important questions about traffic safety and leisure regulations in the city are addressed. Wolfsburg currently offers an exciting mix of tradition and progress!
