traditional roots and modern joy

The roots of the rifle festivals go back to the Middle Ages when shooters were responsible for the security of their communities. [All-Schuetzevereine] explains that such festivals are widespread in Germany and that over 15,000 rifle associations in the Federal Republic count. The course of a shooting festival can vary, but mostly begins with a meeting of the members and a betting shooting to the crowning glory of the new rifle king.

A shooting festival often includes several days and combines the community in a solemn atmosphere. Whether in permanent pents or clubs - there is something for everyone, from traditional events to modern rides. Such festivities also like to attract larger crowds, which was clearly felt in Gifhorn. The joy and laughter of the children echoed through the streets, and the connection to the tradition was noticeable while the young majesties were celebrated.
