A new chapter in the transport connections of the Gifhorn district will soon be opened. The state authority for road construction and transport in Wolfenbüttel is optimistic about the upcoming planning approval decision for the new construction of the four-lane B4 between Gifhorn and Braunschweig. In more than 30 years of planning, the documents had to be publicly displayed twice. The aim is to relieve congestion on the through towns in Meine and Rötgesbüttel. With the final decision, preparatory measures can now begin.
But there is also a lot going on culturally in the region. Changes in the catering industry
While the cultural scene is flourishing, there is not only positive news from the gastronomy sector. The restaurantThere Pippoam Tankumsee will close its doors at the end of the year and will only be available for events. Owner Giuseppe Marino plans to focus his attention on the trattoria in Gifhorn. A study by IFH COLOGNE shows that gastronomy is a fundamental factor in the revitalization of German city centers. Around 60% of the restaurateurs surveyed rate the current situation as tense and see, among other things, the shortage of skilled workers as a major problem.
In the Meinersen community, however, there is a ray of hope: TheCoolCooking test phasein the secondary school is intended to improve the quality of the cafeteria food. In the future, devices that both cool and heat food will ensure tasty food that is ready to be served on time. If the test phase is successful, the system could be introduced across the board and have a positive impact on meals in schools and daycare centers.
Things remain exciting in the Gifhorn region: the future of the district is being shaped vividly with new transport projects, a cultural highlight such as the Aller Festival and committed initiatives to improve gastronomy.
