Göttingen in celebration mode: This is what awaits you at Dies Academicus 2025!
On June 18th there will be celebrations again in Göttingen! The Dies Academicus is just around the corner and brings with it a colorful potpourri of sporting and entertaining activities. Like that Göttingen Tageblatt reported, the spectacle starts in the early hours of the morning. Less learning, more fun is the motto, and so the students secure their places on the meadow early.
What can visitors expect? A whole lot! From soccer tournaments with a total of 64 teams to exotic sports like bobby car racing and bull riding, there is something for everyone. The pull-up competition, which takes place on the Main Stage at 7:15 p.m., will certainly be a highlight. Here participants can compete in various categories – male, female, diverse – and fight for fame and honor.
Creative actions and musical beats
Participants have the opportunity to let their creativity run wild by wearing self-designed jerseys and coming up with creative team names. Another exciting item on the program are the dance battles, in which break dancers compete against each other and the audience decides the winner.
The new pepper and salt stage is being launched for music lovers. Here, visitors can expect house and techno beats that accompany the festival in the afternoon until late. Anyone who still feels like partying after an active day can look forward to the afterparty at EinsB, to which the winning teams receive free entry.
Diverse offer
The Dies Academicus not only offers sports, but also a variety of entertainment options. From basketball to human table soccer, there is something for everyone. On this day it is clear: learning day in the lecture hall? None! Instead, we actively participate in what is happening and celebrate together.
