The handball players from MTV Rosdorf and MTV Geismar are in the middle of preparations for the new 2025/26 season, which will start in September. After a competitive and emotional association league season, which the men of MTV Rosdorf ended with a narrow 31:30 win against MTV Geismar, the team finished the season in 7th place. Coach Artur Mikolajczyk emphasizes that intensive preparation will be crucial for success in the coming season. The coming challenges are not far away, because the first matchday is on September 13th, when MTV Rosdorf will play away against HSG Deister-Süntel. A week later the home game against the second team from Northeimer HC continues.
The derby against MTV Geismar will take place on October 25th. This competition is traditionally very important for the fans. Things look completely different for MTV Geismar, which starts the season with the aim of asserting itself as the best men's association league team from the Göttingen area. They also start on September 13th, but with a home game against Sportfreunde Söhre II. This is followed by an away game against HSG Rhumetal II.
Women's teams ready for the challenges
On the women's side, MTV Geismar can look forward to a positive sign: the handball players have been promoted to the association league. Coach Jan Goertz sees the first games as crucial for the team's standing in the new league. The promoted team starts with a home game against TSV Burgdorf on September 13th and will play away against SV Garßen-Celle a week later.
