Innovation Prize Göttingen-Northeim: 130 ideas are waiting for the light!
On June 26, 2025, the application phase for the Göttingen Northeim Region Innovation Award was officially closed. This competition is not only very popular in southern Lower Saxony, but is also very important nationwide. Under the motto “Let ideas shine,” a total of 130 applications were submitted, both from companies and research institutions from the region and throughout Germany. The application deadline ended on June 15, 2025, and the variety of projects submitted is impressive.
The competition entries include exciting ideas such as software for recognizing AI-generated media and deepfakes. Innovative developments such as a platform for drug development on functional human 3D tissue and a (beach) basket sauna are also represented. These exciting innovations demonstrate the wide range of creative solutions emerging in the region.
Overview of the applications
The submitted projects are divided into several categories. Here is a look at the applications:
- 51 in der Kategorie „Gründer*innen und Jungunternehmer*innen“ (bis 2 Jahre nach Gründung)
- 52 in der Kategorie „Unternehmen bis 20 Mitarbeiter*innen“
- 27 in der Kategorie „Unternehmen über 20 Mitarbeiter*innen“
The contributions are evaluated by a jury consisting of experts from nine different fields of expertise. The unique selling point of the innovation, the economic success and the economic effect are evaluated. Managing director Marc Diederich has already dealt intensively with the submitted applications.
