In the Harz, a lot is happening: The "Harz magazine" has just published its new vintage. This valuable publication, which is published by Harzverein for History and Antiquity , celebrates its 76th year in 2024. The latest edition, which has been published by Lukas Verlag since the late 1990s, is dedicated to numerous exciting topics and thus offers a deep insight into Harz's history. Interesting articles can be found among the eight main contributions that deal with various aspects of this living region. Alexander Hahn illuminates the medieval perception of Jeanne d’Arc and Barbarossa, while Karl Sanders takes a close look at the magnetism of the snoring cliffs and other Harz granite rocks. Further contributions deal with the prehistoric collections of the Museum of Thale, the works of the landscape painter Carl Blechen, as well as the building history of the Church of St. Jakobi in Goslar.
