The new treasures of the Harz magazine: Experience history up close!

A lot is happening in the Harz: The “Harz-Magazin” has just published its new volume. This valuable publication, published by Harz Association for History and Antiquity is published, will celebrate its 76th year in 2024. The association was founded in 1868 and has been researching and documenting the history and culture of this fascinating region ever since.

The most recent edition, which has been published by Lukas Verlag since the late 1990s, is dedicated to numerous exciting topics and thus offers a deep insight into the history of the Harz Mountains. Among the eight main contributions are interesting articles that deal with various aspects of this lively region. Alexander Hahn sheds light on the medieval perception of Joan of Arc and Barbarossa, while Karl Sanders examines the magnetism of the Schnarchercliffs and other Harz granite rocks. Further articles deal with the prehistoric collections of the Thale Museum, the works of the landscape painter Carl Blechen, and the architectural history of the St. Jakobi Church in Goslar.
