Ceremonial opening of the Jürgenohl exercise campus: sport and fun for everyone!
What's new in Goslar? On Wednesday, July 2nd, the new Jürgenohl movement campus on Kösliner Straße will be ceremoniously opened. From 1 p.m., visitors can expect not only a sporting kick-off with a “School’s Out Fiesta”, but also an exciting football tournament. With cheerful music, fragrant bratwursts and cool drinks, the event promises to be a real celebration for the whole family. Mayor Urte Schwerdtner will hold the official opening at 5 p.m. and lighten the atmosphere with her speech.
The newly designed course is a real magnet for all sports enthusiasts. In the future, citizens will be able to enjoy football, basketball and many other activities here. The attractions include a bouldering wall, a calisthenics facility and spacious green areas that are ideal for gymnastics or relaxed meetings. Registrations for the football tournament are available online at jugend.goslar.de/campus as well as directly on site on the day of the event.
An event for everyone
The Invitation to the event is specifically aimed at young people, fans and everyone who is enthusiastic about sport and community. There are attractive non-cash prizes for participants in the Soccer Cup, which provide additional incentive. The organizers rely on a relaxed atmosphere with lots of food and drink stalls, which are intended to ensure a good atmosphere and sociable togetherness.
Viewed in a larger context, the opening of the exercise campus follows the Ministry of Health's efforts to promote exercise in people's everyday lives. Numerous institutions are showing great commitment with various measures that were presented as part of the round table on exercise and health in March 2025. The initiative is part of a cross-Saxon dialogue to improve the framework conditions for exercise and to increase the visibility of the topic.
Strong together
The importance of an active lifestyle and access to exercise opportunities have increasingly come into the spotlight in recent years. Results from the discussions and planning of a future network to promote the movement show that there will be clear areas of action and common priorities. Already in previous conversations 13 institutions have pledged their participation in order to improve the framework conditions for better promotion of physical activity in society.
All the more reason to be happy that the event in Goslar is not only personality-building, but also an important step towards a more active and healthier society. Be there when it means: experience movement and community – the “School’s Out Fiesta” in the Jürgenohl Movement Campus will certainly be a highlight of the start of the summer holidays!
