International choirs at a benefit concert in Goslar on July 4th!

The anticipation of cultural highlights in the region is growing! From July 2nd to 6th, 2025, the picturesque town of Wernigerode in the Harz Mountains will become the center of choral music for a few days. On the occasion of the 13th edition of the International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival, 20 choirs from 11 different nations will raise their voices and delight spectators with festive concerts and competitions. The festival becomes a platform for international encounters in the choral music scene and offers an extraordinary experience for all guests.

Participating choirs include the Sekolah Global Indo-Asia Children’s Choir from Indonesia and the Nanjing Langlang Children’s Choir from China. However, there is unfortunate news: The Ankor Choir of the Jerusalem Academy of Music & Dance from Israel has canceled its participation. Organizers are already looking for a replacement to complete the program.

Benefit concert in Goslar

A very special event will take place on Friday, July 4th, 2025, at 6 p.m. in Goslar: A benefit concert in aid of the Goslarer Music Scene e. V. is held in the historic Imperial Palace. There is no entry fee for the musical enjoyment; instead, guests are asked to make voluntary donations, which supports the association's important work. The Goslar Music Scene e. V. is a committed network of volunteers that is dedicated to promoting culture with a strong focus on music and regularly organizes concerts, workshops and the “Young Stage” at the Goslar Old Town Festival.

The free tickets for the benefit concert are now available at the Kulturmarktplatz (KUMA) in Goslar, from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. If you want to be on the safe side, you should act quickly, as tickets could sell out quickly and it could be difficult to get seats on the evening of the event. For those who would like to visit the choir festival in Wernigerode: Getting there is easy from various directions. You can reach the city from the north, east and west via the B6; you can easily leave at the “Zentrum” exit. A large parking lot “Am Anger / Schloss” on Halberstädter Straße offers numerous parking spaces. If you come from the south, you will find your parking space on “Marktstrasse”. Getting there is also easy using public transport: after getting off at Wernigerode main station, it's only a ten-minute walk to the old town.
