Finkenborner Weg in Hameln: Renovation starts - wider street soon!
There is news for all residents and road users in Hameln: Finkenborner Weg will be extensively renovated and made wider. This step was already politically decided at the end of 2023. An important goal of the city is to reduce the original costs of over one million euros to 600,000 euros, which was achieved thanks to a surprisingly cheap offer from a company. The renovation, which is now finally up to date, only costs 285,000 euros. That reports Dewezet.
City spokeswoman Wiebke Kanz has officially confirmed the plans: Finkenborner Weg will not only be renovated, but also about 20 centimeters wider than before. In addition, around 250 meters between Finkenborn and the Klütturm/Monopol viewing point are taken into account. The renovation began on June 23rd and should be completed within two to three weeks. The road construction work has already been largely completed, only the laying of gravel remains. However, the Finkenborner Weg is currently not yet open to traffic and the final costs are unclear at the time of going to press.
Renovation details
The renovation covers an area that begins 180 meters behind the last house on the street (Finkenborner Weg 15) and extends beyond Finkenborn. The city of Hameln is showing great commitment to finding a sustainable solution to optimize the traffic situation for everyone involved. This renovation measure is not just a construction site, but also a step towards greater safety and better accessibility for the population.
The extensive renovation of Finkenborner Weg shows that with a good hand and a pragmatic approach, great progress can be achieved. Residents and commuters can look forward to improved infrastructure that will not only be more aesthetically pleasing, but will also make daily commutes easier.
