There was a tragic incident in Hanover on Tuesday in which a 59-year-old pedestrian from Hessisch Oldendorf was hit by a tram. According to reports from Dewezet The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. in Calenberger Neustadt when the woman wanted to cross Humboldtstrasse.
She had previously been on the central platform before turning onto the street. The collision was violent and the pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the accident. She was immediately taken to a hospital to be treated. Fortunately, the 43-year-old driver of the light rail train and the passengers traveling with him remained physically unharmed.
Police are looking for witnesses
The police have already started an investigation and are looking for witnesses who witnessed the accident. The investigators are particularly interested in information about the traffic lights at the time of the accident.
