Hameln relies on cool heads: controversy around new fog system
In Hameln, a new spray lever system on the powder tower creates discussions. The city has invested around 77,000 euros in this innovative project, which should offer citizens a welcome cooling on hot days. But not everyone is enthusiastic: the high cost issue on social media is loud, many feel the spending the funds unnecessary and exaggerated.
But the city administration remains calm. Press spokesman Thomas Wahmes explains that the fog system was specially developed for Hameln and is not simply a standard product. According to Wahmes, such a technology is only used in a few places in Germany. In order to make the right decision, the city has obtained several offers to make the installation of the system in the best possible way. In addition to the fog system, the city also rely on ecological beautification: several small to medium -sized trees were planted at the powder tower. But here too there are restrictions: Press spokeswoman Wiebke Kanz emphasizes that there is no space for large -scale trees to avoid restrictions on vision on traffic and historical buildings. The plantings make hidden cables and supply lines underground. Dewezet added that the city has no Driving lane for new trees can dismantle as long as the planned southern bypass is not implemented. However, the climate adjustment measures are diverse. In addition to tree plantings, the city also wants to rely on frosting and shading to improve the city climate. Wahmes emphasizes that the positive response to the fog system underlines the high added value for the citizens. In fact, there are already inquiries from other cities in Germany about the technology of this fog system. Another important topic is the initiative for climate adaptation, which is steadily promoted in the city. Mayor Claudio Griese recently opened the climate list in front of the wedding house. By the end of August, the project is to encourage citizens to think about climate adaptation measures in dialogue. Visitors can experience the positive effects of water, green and shadow up close. Hameln.de reports on the effects that this dialog has on the community. green areas and trees as part of urban development

As part of the future development strategies, the city also plans to build a six -meter -high shadow element in front of the Kaiserbrunnen. The garden parties on August 8th and 15th and the documentary "A heaven full of bees" are further steps to raise awareness of climate issues. As a new partner of the climate list, Neudorff from Emmerthal supports the project with plants.
Finally, it remains to be said: Hameln has a good hand for innovative projects. The city administration shows commitment and determination, both in terms of the new fog systems and on the comprehensive climate adaptation measures that should benefit the future of the city.
