Henry von Klencke: The new hope for Emmerthal's town hall!
A breath of fresh air is blowing through Emmerthal because the CDU has nominated a promising candidate for the 2024 mayoral election: Henry von Klencke, who is described as a “stroke of luck” for the election of Rolf Keller, the CDU party leader. Keller emphasizes not only von Klencke's down-to-earth nature, but also his broad network in the community. The council politician from Hämelschenburg wants to work in the community with courage, ideas and responsibility. That sounds promising for Emmerthal!
The decision to nominate von Klencke as a candidate was made by the party executive committee on Wednesday. He has been a member of the local council and deputy mayor of Amelgatzen since 2021. Before returning home, the 39-year-old studied business administration and political and administrative sciences and worked for seven years at the Federal Association of German Industries in Berlin.
Beginnings and visions
When he took over the Hämelschenburg manor from his parents in 2022, von Klencke not only took on responsibility for the cultural sector, gastronomy and events, but also for agriculture and forestry. If the voters place their trust in him, his wife Charlotte will continue to run the manor. This shows that the family is behind him and is ready to take responsibility.
Von Klencke is of the opinion that the planned investments in Emmerthal are crucial for the future. He believes that higher debt would also be justifiable if one relies on future tax revenues from companies. This vision also includes current plans for an energy cluster and commercial areas aimed at attracting new businesses and supporting existing businesses.
The dialogue with the SPD
The political landscape in Emmerthal is particularly exciting. The current SPD mayor Dominik Petters is considering running for the district election. Keller is eagerly awaiting his decision as talks are underway between the CDU and SPD to present voters with several candidate options. In this way, political dialogue could strengthen voters and offer the community new perspectives.
Von Klencke plans to present his ideas for implementing the projects he has started in January and emphasizes the importance of local politics and direct exchange with citizens. This type of proximity to the citizens is particularly important in order to keep an eye on the concerns of clubs, companies, schools and villages in Emmerthal.
As part of the Local Political Association (KPV), the CDU represents the interests of tens of thousands of local activists. The KPV brings together challenges and problem solutions in the communities and is committed to the goal of securing local self-government and financial autonomy. These goals are also reflected in the ambitions of von Klencke, who wants to work not only for his party, but for the entire community.
The members of the CDU in Emmerthal are called upon to take part in the upcoming general meeting in January, where the final vote for von Klencke as mayoral candidate will be made.
