New name for Hameln's indoor swimming pool: Welcome to AquaEins!

A proud 1,337 votes, over 500 suggestions and a creative competition: Hameln's indoor swimming pool finally has a new name - "AquaEins". This name was determined from more than 300 unique ideas, as dewezet.de reports. Initiated by the Hameln municipal utility company, the public call for a name ended at the end of August, followed by a voting phase that lasted until October 13th.

An expert jury, consisting of Mayor Claudio Griese and other representatives from sports and marketing, had the difficult task of evaluating the eleven most popular suggestions. Criteria such as creativity, originality and the connection to the location were crucial. The three best ideas were also awarded vouchers for the new indoor swimming pool.

But the new “AquaEins” not only stands for a fresh name, but also for an innovative bathroom concept. After extensive renovation work, the indoor swimming pool will soon reopen its doors. In its new look, it will feature a swimmer's pool, a three-meter diving tower and a colorful spray park for the little ones. Those looking for relaxation don't miss out either: a textile sauna, a modern course pool for fitness and support programs and a completely barrier-free area are also part of the new concept, as stwhw.de emphasizes.

Commitment to swimming competence in Germany

The construction and renovation of swimming pools is an important issue in Germany, especially with regard to children's swimming ability. A current initiative calls for an annual investment program of one billion euros over twelve years for indoor and outdoor swimming pools nationwide, which is supported by Zeit. This plan not only highlights the importance of pools, but also emphasizes the need to provide all children with access to swimming lessons.

The “AquaEins” will not only have a new name, but will also play an important role in promoting swimming skills and guaranteeing fun in the water for the whole family. With this redesign, the Hameln indoor swimming pool could become a popular place for sports, leisure and relaxation.
