Christian Titz becomes a coach at Hannover 96 - promotion as a goal!

A new trainer for Hannover 96 is certain: Christian Titz will switch from 1. FC Magdeburg to the Reds. The transfer poker between the two clubs has been completed and Tititz will sign a contract by 2027 in the coming hours. The transfer for the trainer amounts to around 500,000 euros, which can increase to a total of 700,000 euros if a possible promotion to the Bundesliga. Kicker reports that Titz has achieved great success in Magdeburg and is considered a promotion coach.

Under his leadership, 1st FC Magdeburg won an average of 1.59 points in 165 games and in 2022 secured promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. The FCM landed in a strong fifth place last season. Nevertheless, Titz decided to leave the club. Sports director Otmar Schork described his decision as a "neck strike" for the club. According to Transfer market informed Titz already informed the management of the FCM about his exchange request.

successor and change of coach in Hanover

Titz succeeds André Breitenreiter at Hannover 96, who was released in April after disappointing 10 points from 13 second division games. Hanover is not going well this season: After the last relegation in 2019, the club describes itself as a "second division dino" and now denies its seventh season in the 2nd division. In an unsatisfactory ninth place in the last season, those responsible in Hanover urgently want an ascent. The association recognized the new change of coach as an opportunity to create the desired Bundesliga return.

For Titz, the challenge in Hanover will certainly not be easy, after all, it will be under pressure immediately. With Lars Barlemann, the Reds had an interim solution in the last phase last season, but now need second stability for the coming season. Feverpitch also reports of numerous coaching changes in the 2nd league during the current season-this shows the urgency and the high fluctuation in the second Bundesliga.

New hope for Magdeburg

Markus Fiedler, previous U-21 coach of VfB Stuttgart, will probably succeed Titz 'succession at the 1st FC Magdeburg. Fiedler has the potential to bring a fresh wind to the team after he previously led VfB's U23 from the regional league to the 3rd division and secured the relegation there. He also seems to look forward to the new challenge. FC Magdeburg has agreed on a collaboration with him, but the official confirmation is still pending.

With the change of coach at Hannover 96 and the developments in Magdeburg, the 2nd Bundesliga is facing an exciting summer. Both clubs will start performance tests and training in the coming week. It remains to be seen whether Titz will bring the hoped -for turn for Hannover 96 and whether Fiedler Magdeburg can lead back to the road to success.
