Norway in pictures: Kai-Uwe Küchler inspires Hanover with a lecture
On November 5, 2025, photographer Kai-Uwe Küchler will present his impressive images from Norway in Hanover. As part of the new “Planetview at the Airport” season 2025/2026, Küchler will report on his experiences on numerous trips through the fascinating country in his lecture. The focus will be on the Norwegian fjords, mountain landscapes and the coasts of the north, as well as the famous North Cape.
For Küchler, who was born in 1965 and studied German, English and American studies, Norway is more than just a travel destination; it is a source of inspiration. In his expeditions he searches for the perfect light and quiet moments in nature. The motifs shown include the breathtaking midnight sun, the impressive northern lights near Tromsø and the idyllic landscapes of Lofoten and Vesterålen. But it's not just the landscape that plays a role: Küchler also portrays people, such as fishermen on the Arctic Ocean and the indigenous Sami culture, including a modern shaman named Thorun.
Expanded options for Norway travel
In addition to the lecture, there are also a variety of opportunities to discover Norway. International cruise lines offer a variety of voyages to Norway's stunning coastlines, and many of them depart from various European ports. These cruises make it possible to spend additional vacation days in inland Norway and experience the beauty of nature up close. Norway is blessed with over 50 ports, although not all of them are accessible to international ships. This means travelers can look forward to individual adventures and discoveries.
The ferry connections between Germany, Denmark and Sweden to Norway are a popular option. Four car ferry companies offer daily services, which also include car and passenger packages as well as discounts for seniors, students and children. On some ferries, passengers can expect first-class amenities, while others are all about transportation.
The perfect end to a Norway vacation
A highlight of every trip to Norway should be a Hurtigruten trip. Küchler emphasizes that such a tour and a visit to cities like Oslo and Bergen are essential experiences to enjoy the diversity of Norway. The combination of fjords, mountains and the unique culture makes every trip unforgettable. Even if not every port is served by large cruise ships, the warm people and the untouched nature invite you to explore.
Tickets for Kai-Uwe Küchler's lecture are available on the [Planetview] website (https://www.hannover.de/ Veranstaltungskalender/Lesungen-Vortr%C3%A4ge/Vortrag-%C3%BCber-Norwegen-im-Land-der-Mitternachtssonne) and in the experience shop on the Airport Plaza. The lecture will take place in the “Cockpit” event room, which is easily accessible via the glass elevators in the Airport Plaza. Anyone who is enthusiastic about Norway should definitely not miss this event!
