Bjarne Mädel criticizes egoism: Why doesn't anyone suffer?
Bjarne Mädel, who is already considered an exception in the German television landscape, is currently raising new controversies and thoughts on society. The popular actor is popular not only for his roles but also for his deep reflections. This becomes particularly clear when he observes people struggling with drugs or alcohol at the main train station in Hamburg. In an interview, he expresses a guilty conscience when he sees how others are feeling and wonders why something like that hasn't happened to him. “I wish everyone was as well off as I am,” explains Mädel. These words are no coincidence, but rather reflect his concern for social injustices.
The Hamburg native, who was born on March 12, 1968, has made a name for himself over the years. He became known for his impressive performances, for example as Heiko “Schotty” Schotte in the series “Crime Scene Cleaner” or as Jakob “Buba” Otto in “How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast)”. His broad spectrum shows that he can handle both serious and humorous aspects as an actor. But he actively faces his social responsibility, because Mädel notices a certain tendency towards repression in society, especially in relation to conflicts such as the war in Gaza or Sudan. In his opinion, it is selfish not to concern yourself with the suffering of others out of self-protection.
New role in “Why me?”
From June 20th, Mädel will appear in the ARD media library as Dr. Bear in the new series “Why Me?” be seen. In this series, directed by David Schalko, various people ask the question “Why me?” and confront the realities of their lives. This approach couldn't be better suited to the times when social issues are increasingly coming to the forefront of public awareness.
A life for the stage
His career is characterized by hard work and passion for the art of acting. After completing his diploma course at the Konrad Wolf Film Academy in Babelsberg, Mädel played at the Volkstheater Rostock and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg before diving into the world of television. His role in “Stromberg” in particular was formative for many viewers. For his role in “Crime Scene Cleaner” he not only received recognition, but also the Grimme Prize in 2012 and 2013. These successes not only underline his acting talent, but also show his versatility as an artist.
In a world that is often characterized by ignorance, Bjarne Mädel encourages us to share thoughts about our shared responsibility. By reflecting on his own life journey, he encourages others to also think beyond their own well-being. His insights are an invitation to go through life with an open heart and open mind.
How are you, dear readers? Do you sometimes feel like an outsider as you observe the challenges of others? With his thoughts, Mädel has opened a window through which we can take a new look at our fellow human beings. It's worth stopping and thinking about what it means to live in today's world.
