Hildesheim receives top certificate for service quality in tourism!
Last weekend in Lower Saxony was all about service quality in tourism. On December 4th, around 60 coveted quality certificates were presented to various companies and providers of tourist services in Hanover. Lower Saxony State Secretary Matthias Wunderling-Weilbier presented the award and emphasized the importance of such initiatives for the regional economy and guest quality. Among those honored was Hildesheim Marketing GmbH, which received the “ServiceQuality Germany” certificate for its tourist information center. This confirms the city of Hildesheim's continuous efforts to provide first-class service quality in tourism.
A total of around 80 participants took part in the award event, which honored not only Hildesheim Marketing GmbH, but also numerous other companies such as the Innerstebad Sarstedt, the Sottrum holiday park and the Roemer and Pelizaeus Museum Hildesheim. These awards are part of the state government's broad funding strategy, which has, among other things, launched initiatives such as Lower Saxony Children's Holiday Region and Travel for All in order to promote quality in Lower Saxony tourism. The aim is to offer guests consistently high quality - regardless of whether they are day guests or overnight guests.
Quality improvement initiatives
Lower Saxony has been involved in the ServiceQuality Germany quality initiative since 2004, which is aimed at small and medium-sized service companies. In this context, quality management systems are introduced that are intended to increase quality awareness in companies. Since the initiative began, over 4,400 Q-Coaches have been trained in tourism service companies and 149 companies have been certified. These training measures are important in order to sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of regional providers.
TourismusMarketing Lower Saxony (TMN) also aims to further expand holistic quality management in the state. In the future, the TMN will act in the role of a coordinator and thought leader to further sensitize and inform the tourism landscape with regard to quality. Because high-quality products and first-class service are not only important to satisfy guests, but also crucial to increase the price potential for tourism service providers. Ultimately, everyone benefits from these quality improvements along the entire tourism value chain.
In a market that is so competitive, the benefits are clear. Higher quality not only means guest satisfaction, but also better competitive opportunities for the companies. That's why these awards are an important step towards setting sustainable standards in the region and showing guests what they can expect from their visit to Lower Saxony.
