What an exciting weekend for handball fans in Hildesheim! On November 9th, 2025, the eagerly awaited Lower Saxony derby took place in the Sparkasse Arena between theHC Eintracht Hildesheimand thatMTV Braunschweiginstead of. In front of around 1,883 enthusiastic spectators, the players from Hildesheim showed why they are currently at the top of the table.
From the start, the Hildesheim team left no doubt that they really wanted to bring home the victory. At halftime it was already 20:17 for the home team. Jakub Tonar was the big star of the game and scored an impressive 12 goals. His excellent performance made a decisive contribution to HC Eintracht Hildesheim ultimately winning the game 36:29 and moving straight up to second place in the table, despite playing one game less. Coach Volker Mudrow from MTV Braunschweig congratulated the Hildesigners on their success after the game.
