On Thursday afternoon, July 10, 2025, there was a serious traffic accident on the BAB 7 heading south between the Drispenstedt and Hildesheim junctions. At 3:47 p.m., a truck and a mobile home with several occupants collided. According to Hildesheimer Presse, the first rescue workers found several injured people who had already been freed from the vehicles. Unfortunately, one person was still trapped in the severely deformed mobile home and had to be freed by emergency services.
A total of three people were taken to local hospitals with suspected polytrauma. A fourth person was able to leave the scene of the accident independently. The fire brigade not only took over the rescue and care of the injured, but also secured the scene, ensured fire protection and took care of the management of batteries and leaking operating materials. During all of these measures, the BAB 7 was partially completely closed.
Recurring accidents on the BAB 7
The risk of accidents on the BAB 7 has been a recurring topic in recent years. It was not until April 10, 2025 that another incident occurred on this motorway between the Derneburg junction and the Salzgitter motorway triangle. According to Presseportal, the driver of a Renault Masters fell asleep and crashed into a mobile barrier. The driver, a 39-year-old man, refused hospital treatment despite sustaining injuries. There was material damage of around 30,000 euros. Here too, measures were taken to check compliance with driving and rest times, as the required records were not available.
