Top game ends in a draw: Hildesheim U19 remains in the promotion battle!

In the exciting derby in the U19 regional league between VfV 06 Hildesheim and TSV Havelse on November 1st, 2025, the boys from Hildesheim won an important point. In the end it was 1:1 and around 305 spectators were able to enjoy a thrilling duel. Both teams are aiming for promotion to the DFB youth league, a hot race with VfV 06 Hildesheim in second place and TSV Havelse in third place.

After a rather cautious initial phase, VfV had their first opportunity in the 20th minute, but Ibrahim Cham's shot was confidently parried by Havelse's goalkeeper Jonas Glauberstein. A little later the guests showed how easy it can be in football. Anton Hanke gave Havelse the lead in the 45th minute with a precise shot. But Hildesheim showed character: In stoppage time in the first half, Adrian Schmidt converted a penalty and made it 1-1.

Change of strategy and fighting spirit

The second half brought a new tactical direction. Coach Benedict Plaschke decided to strengthen the defense in order to slow down Havelse's offensive urge. This measure had an effect: VfV hardly allowed any dangerous actions by the guests. The Havels team only remained dangerous at corners, but the Hildesheim defense held firm. An outstanding defensive element was Benjamin Mommertz, who thwarted a dangerous counterattack with a great tackle.

In the six-minute stoppage time, Havelse pushed again and won several corners, but VfV remained stable and won the valuable point. Coach Plaschke expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, despite the numerous absences due to injuries. VfV is now still level on points with Havelse in second place in the table, with three match days to go.

Prospects for advancement

The next three games will be crucial for VfV. With three wins, the dream of promotion to the DFB youth league could come true. The team is preparing intensively and, above all, has to prepare for the two upcoming away games.

The spectators not only witnessed an exciting game, but also an event that brings the entire region together. Among the visitors were Oberliga coach Ridha Kitar and VfV board athlete Omar Fahmy, who followed the commitment of the U19 teams with interest.

In order to further optimize their preparations for the challenges ahead, the Lions' U19 team qualified for League A of the DFB youth league with an impressive 4-0 win against FC Ingolstadt. The opponents in Group B are well-known teams such as Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfB Stuttgart, and the first games start from February 2nd. This league promises exciting encounters and another opportunity to prove yourself. Fans can look forward to an exciting few months as the U19 teams give their all to achieve their goals, both in the regional league and in the youth league.

For the players of VfV 06 Hildesheim it now means: persevere and fight, because only with constant performance and the necessary will to win nothing will stand in the way of promotion.
