TSV Giesen GRIZZLYS II win the away game – Herrmann shines!
In volleyball, TSV Giesen GRIZZLYS II achieved a small sensation last weekend. With a clear 3-0 win (25:21, 25:22, 25:16) against Moerser SC, the team led by coach Martin Richter was not only able to collect two important points, but also stabilize their position in the table.
This game took place on November 29, 2025 in the RWE sports hall in Mülheim an der Ruhr and was part of the 2nd League North Germany. With this success, TSV Giesen climbs to tenth place in the table, while Moerser SC continues to find itself at the bottom of the table. The results of the last matches show that Moerser SC is not exactly shining with 21 wins and 22 defeats and only has 16 points. The team is seen by many as a foreseeable relegation.
Convincing team performance
A true hero of the game was Linus Herrmann, who was named Most Valuable Player (MVP). Coach Richter praised his team's stable team performance and low error rate, which contributed significantly to the clear victory. The Giesen team competed in the regular six plus libero and implemented the coach's instructions perfectly.
The Gieseners were in good form and played with a lot of motivation - a strategy that turned out to be spot on. In the last few encounters, the GRIZZLYS II have proven again and again that they are certainly capable of scoring points against supposedly stronger teams. The team recently achieved a convincing 3-1 win against FC Schüttorf and showed that they are competitive.
Looking ahead
The next game is already coming up for TSV Giesen GRIZZLYS II. Next Saturday at 8 p.m. we face America Unlimited Volleys Aligse, who surprisingly lost 2:3 against PSV Neustrelitz. Coach Richter sees his team as underdogs, but sees a good chance of another win, especially after the strong performance against Moers.
An interesting aspect before the upcoming match: the former Giesener Damir Cebotar now plays for Aligse. The duel will certainly be exciting, especially since the rivalry between the two teams is also shaped by history. Fans can look forward to a thrilling game!
The mood in the Giesen camp is euphoric and the team has obviously developed a good hand. If the performance from recent games continues, the young season could provide much-needed momentum for the next few weeks.
The TSV is already working intensively on training in order to be able to compete against the America Unlimited Volleys Aligse. A great weekend for the team from Giesen!
