Volleyball junior team in Hildesheim: Workshops and League Cup in focus!
In Hildesheim, where volleyball fans get their money's worth, the second junior team meeting of the year recently took place as part of the League Cup. From October 9th to 12th, 2025, a total of 14 participants gathered not only to do sports, but also to attend important workshops and promote exchange among each other. This was reported by the volleyball association. The journey to this exciting event took place on Thursday, where the participants were able to gather some first impressions with Matthias Frosch immediately after checking into their rooms at the hotel.
A highlight of the meeting was the Media Day in Giesen, where photos and video clips were created - a wonderful opportunity to capture the atmosphere and dynamics of the event. In the evening we continued with dinner together in the “Café del Sol” before Friday began with a crispy breakfast and a volleyball game at the Himmelsthür Gymnasium school.
Child protection in focus
One of the central topics of the meeting was the workshop “Child protection in trainer training”, which was led by Sven Bockfeld. This thematic anchoring of child protection is not only important, but practically essential in sport. Such an approach is also supported by Sport für Sachsen, which points out the importance of child protection within the statutes and youth regulations. Raising the awareness of everyone involved is an essential part of protecting children and young people from discrimination and violence.
With this attitude, the volleyball association creates a safe environment in which prejudices have no place and all athletes can develop regardless of origin or gender. The workshop was a step in the right direction and an important signal against discrimination and extremism in sport.
Volleyball games and team-building activities
The day of the League Cup was eagerly awaited by both the participants and the spectators. After another exciting dinner in the charming “Death by Pizza” restaurant, the “Women Officials in Sports” workshop was on the program on Saturday. Under the leadership of Carolin Giffhorn, Dörte Pieplow and Erik Behrens, valuable insights were provided that contribute to equality in sport.
Afterwards there was a team evening together at bowling, where the social aspect of the meeting was not neglected. Sunday started with another workshop, this time dedicated to communication in sport. Ida Sievers introduced the participants to the world of Canva and gave helpful tips on how to improve communication in the team.
Outlook for the future
The event ended with a feedback round on the development of the junior team from 2022 to 2025. Numerous wishes and ideas were collected here that could be important for the future of the team. This exchange is not only valuable, but also shows the commitment of the participants who want to actively work for the further development of the team.
A big thank you goes to the speakers, Matthias Frosch for his support and all the helpers on site. The volleyball association would also like to thank CarUnion for sponsoring the hoodies, which ensure team spirit and cohesion.
The junior team has not only had a good hand in sports, but also in social and playful matters and is facing the coming challenges strengthened. Stay tuned because there is always something going on in volleyball!
