Lüneburg demonstrates loudly for peace in the Gaza Strip!
On the evening of October 3, 2025, around 200 people gathered in Lüneburg to demonstrate for an end to the fighting in the Gaza Strip. The moving scenes began at Clamartpark and moved through the water district, with an impressive conclusion on the market square in front of the town hall. Many participants contributed to the symbolism of the event Keffiyehs, which send a sign of solidarity with Palestine.
The demonstration was led by a committed speaker who mobilized the crowd with passionate slogans. Shouts of “Free, free, Palestine!” and “All together against fascism!” echoed through the streets as the speaker described the situation in the Gaza Strip as “genocide” and harshly criticized German politics. Referring to the global conflicts, including in Sudan and Congo, he called for an end to “genocide” and vehemently campaigned against Zionism.
Peaceful protest with clear messages
The speaker particularly emphasized the inviolability of the dignity of all people, regardless of origin and sexual orientation. Further speeches questioned the role of the German media in relation to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and called for more attention to the suffering population. It is interesting to note that there was no mention during the rally of Hamas' violent attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023 and the hostages still in their control. There was also no condemnation of the acts.
The police noted that the meeting was peaceful, which underlines the commitment and willpower of the participants, despite the sometimes controversial views within the speeches. The Save Gaza initiative in Lüneburg had previously called for actions to draw attention to the inadequate food supply and hunger in Gaza. On July 31, 2025, events will take place again in Clamartpark from 5 p.m. to draw attention to the humanitarian catastrophe.
Call for support
For the upcoming campaign, participants are asked to bring cooking pots and spoons to make noise and attract even more attention. International pressure on Israel has led to times being set up for aid deliveries, but even 100 trucks a day are far from enough. The initiative is supported, among others, by organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, which are calling for an end to the conflict and humanitarian aid.
With a clear call on the federal government to put pressure on the Israeli government to end the inhumane situation in Gaza, the circle of these committed citizens who urgently advocate for peace and justice closes. The impressive protest in Lüneburg is only part of a larger budget that should increasingly be heard.
