Webinar on company health promotion: Stop sick leave!

In times of high sickness rates, many companies are faced with the challenge of keeping their employees healthy and motivated. The Lüneburg-Wolfsburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHKLW) has taken on this topic and is offering a free webinar on Tuesday, November 25th, from 3 to 4 p.m. that deals with health prevention for companies. As the Celle press reports, the event will be led by Lina Hössel, an expert from the Manufaktur für Gesundheit.

The focus of the webinar is on the causes of high sickness rates and the countermeasures that have already been tried and tested. Participants can expect helpful information that shows how they can take targeted countermeasures. The aim is to have an interactive exchange on practical experiences in the field of health management. This allows companies to benefit from the experiences of others and develop targeted strategies.

The need for health promotion

After all, full-time employees in Germany spend an average of almost 1,600 hours per year at work. According to a report by the Statista There is a clear trend towards workplace health promotion (BGF). This is described as a holistic package of measures that is intended to counteract the health stress on employees. More and more companies are offering information events, sports activities and contact persons for mental health problems. According to the umbrella association of statutory health insurance companies, almost 30,000 companies have recently offered such measures - a pleasing increase.

But the reality is often different. Survey data from the Techniker Krankenkasse show that around a third of working people are confronted with too many tasks and deadline pressure. In addition, around 40 percent of those surveyed reported cases of burnout at their workplace. It becomes clear that a sustainable WHP is not just a “nice to have” but is a necessity in order to offer employees the best possible conditions in the long term.

How companies can benefit

Investments in employee health pay off. In addition to reducing absenteeism, WHP measures also help to make companies more attractive to new workers. Health promotion has the potential to reduce social inequalities in health and contribute to a better working atmosphere overall.
