Diamond wedding: Erika and Helmut Stumpe celebrate 60 years of love!
In Bad Rothenfelde, the Stumpe couple is celebrating a very special anniversary: their diamond wedding! Erika and Helmut Stumpe have been a well-rehearsed team for 60 years now. Despite hard work on the farm, the couple was always active in club life and took part in many shooting events. The neighbors congratulated them in the traditional way with beautiful wreaths to mark this special day. Helmut describes their property as the last corner of Bad Rothenfelde, a place full of memories and stories.
The roots of both go deep into agriculture. Helmut took over his parents' business as a part-time job and looked after cows, pigs and, earlier, a horse. The story of their love began at a cousin's stag party in Hesselteich, and just two years later, in 1965, they exchanged vows in the Jesus Christ Church. Erika already brought her own experience into farming, which helped her quickly adapt to life on the farm.
An active club life
The couple has two children and a large garden that was previously planted with vegetables. Participation in shooting festivals was always a matter of the heart for the family, even if it sometimes became critical, such as the birth of a calf. Helmut is an active member of the Müschen Citizens' Rifle Association, which he joined at the age of 18. The sons Frank and Jürgen have also remained loyal to shooting: Frank is involved in the Heidland-Strang shooting club, while Jürgen has taken on the role of youth sports director at BSV Müschen.
During their travels, Helmut and Erika discovered their passion for exploring new places. As soon as their sons got older and were better able to run the farm, the couple went on trips to the Black Forest, Vienna or the Moselle, often just for a weekend. They are also loyal fans of the “Kastelruther Spatzen” and have attended around 15 concerts, which makes for many wonderful memories.
Celebration in the “Jägerjug”
The diamond wedding is now celebrated in the “Jägerkrug”, where they are congratulated by their children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. Togetherness and solidarity are celebrated here, complemented by the good wishes of the BSV Müschen shooters, who have always played an important part in their lives. In the midst of all these celebrations there is gratitude for a long and fulfilling time together, the tangible memories and the look forward to all the new adventures that still await them.
