The weekend from September 14th to 16th, 2025 has some exciting events in Osnabrück's northern district that have something to offer for every age group. This is a special highlight Re-opening of the film theater in Bramsche. The official reopening will take place on Friday at 7 p.m., under the motto “Freshly painted – back in the armchair”. After long renovation work, which was necessary due to structural damage since 2018, the audience can look forward to free entry, a champagne reception, a surprise short film and a concert by the band “Kissies Faces”. The film theater itself is a listed building and has made many cinematic hearts beat faster.
On Friday at 9 a.m., the Diakonie will set up its stand at the weekly market in Bramsche to provide information about “Ways to Help”. The Osnabrück Nutrition Council is also invited to present the upcoming Regio Challenge from September 15th to 21st, which pays homage to regional foods. Registration for the challenge has already closed, but the main prize – a gift basket with regional delicacies – is sure to attract many interested parties.
Family-friendly events and markets
The Malgarten Monastery opens its doors to all garden lovers and nature enthusiasts on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both open garden gates in Malgarten and Rieste Visitors can discover the diversity of the garden - and all for a small entrance fee of just 2 euros. In Rieste, Susanne Nannemann and Walter Brinkmann also provide an insight into their garden.
Sunday offers with that Cloth market in Bramsche in the Cloth Makers Museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. a very special opportunity for anyone interested in textiles: over 30 textile artists will show their works, and there will be numerous hands-on activities for the little ones.
Another captivating event is the Animal show and the farmers' market in Voltlage-Weese, also on Sunday from 10 a.m. The day begins with an ecumenical service, followed by a diverse animal show with 184 cows from 30 farms. At the adjacent farmers' market, visitors can expect a colorful range of homemade food and activities for the entire family.
Social events and musical highlights
It will also be sociable Folk festival in Ohrtermersch, which starts on Saturday at 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to watch the parade and celebrate with the band “Colorados” at the festival ball in the evening – entry is free! Bouncy castles and carousels await the little ones.
There will also be music on Sunday: from 8 p.m. there will be a US folk concert in the Kulturetage Ankum, where the band Bombadil will present their new album “How The Moon Got Back Home”. During the day, the Quakenbrück community will be delighted with a concert by the chamber choir of the Diepholz church district at 6.30 p.m. in the St. Sylvester Church - admission is free, donations are requested.
