VfL Osnabrück signs Daniel Davari: New era in goalkeeper training!

A new wind is blowing at VfL Osnabrück: The club has hired Daniel Davari as its new goalkeeping coach. The 37-year-old started his job on Monday, at 11 a.m. sharp, during the first training session. Davari most recently worked at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and brings a wealth of experience with him. In his career he has played a total of 39 games in the Bundesliga and 75 in the second division and played over 130 games in third and regional leagues. Quite a wealth of experience that will now benefit him not only as a coach, but also as a mentor to goalkeepers Lukas Jonsson, Niklas Sauter and Mats Remberg.

The Giessen native, who was born to an Iranian father and a Polish mother, is not unknown on the football floor. Wikipedia reports that Davari was also part of Iran's 2014 World Cup squad. In recent years he has made a name for himself through various positions, including Eintracht Braunschweig, Arminia Bielefeld and MSV Duisburg. He is now bringing his background as a goalkeeper into the structures of VfL, where he will also work with the U19s and can therefore make a valuable contribution to the training of young talents.

A challenge awaits

In Osnabrück the situation on the pitch is already tense. In addition to Davari's new commitment, there are a number of players who have not yet clarified their future. Bjarke Jacobsen, a new signing from SV Wehen Wiesbaden, is in an individual training program due to an injury. Meanwhile, the youngsters Joschka Kroll, Rohin Shivani and Ibrahim Touray are about to go on loan to other clubs in order to gain more match practice. As far as transfers are concerned, things are also going well for Joel Zwarts and Aday Ercan: Both are not currently taking part in training as they are in advanced transfer discussions. Bryang Kayo could also leave the club; A concrete offer has already been made and is currently being examined.

The trainees' first impressions of Davari's way of working are promising. He is known for having clear communication and an open ear for the wishes of his protégés. These characteristics could suit VfL Osnabrück well, especially in a phase in which the team needs an upswing.

How the developments around VfL and its new goalkeeper coaches will shape up remains exciting. But the signs are good that Davari can significantly improve the goalkeeping prospects at the club with his know-how and experience.
