Citybeach Hildesheim: Beach feeling with solar energy from June 27th!
A real holiday feeling in the middle of Hildesheim - that's what the Citybeach promises, which opens its doors on Friday, June 27th and has a summer program for all age groups until August 17th. The An der Lilie square turns back into a beach landscape covered with fine sand. The construction for this is already in full swing and the anticipation is increasing!
At the 16th edition of Citybeach, organized by Hildesheim Marketing with the support of numerous sponsors, the region and nature are not only honored, but also actively integrated into the event. This edition of the popular event will be implemented in a completely energy-neutral manner for the first time. The power is supplied by five solar modules on the gbg beach lounge and three balcony power plants with a total of six kWp on the roofs of the huts. In total, around 16% of the electricity requirements are covered directly on site by these systems, while the remaining requirements are provided by a photovoltaic system at the Ochtersum primary school, which produces around 16,000 kWh during the event period. This sustainable initiative is the result of a cooperation between EVI Energiebedarf Hildesheim, EVI SOLARMEILE and Hildesheim Marketing.
A colorful program for young and old
What can visitors expect? A varied program with cool drinks, delicious summer snacks and sporting activities! Sports events such as the KanJam tournament and the cornhole tournament, which are held in several preliminary rounds and a final, are particularly popular. These tournaments are supported by Sparkasse Hildesheim Goslar-Peine and promise exciting competitions for everyone! There is lots of fun and games for the little guests at the sand castle competition and the fairy tale children's festival.
In addition, Citybeach offers the opportunity to relax with specials such as Stud Monday or Afterwork@Citybeach. On Saturday, July 9th, the “Bunte Beach” will take place in collaboration with the Inclusion Advisory Board of the city of Hildesheim. A special kind of highlight.
Novelties and variety on offer
The gbg beach lounge presents itself in a new, rustic-Mediterranean design and is equipped with inviting wooden furniture. Up to 35 guests can be accommodated here, while the catering by Villa dell’ Angelo is tailor-made for groups of 30 or more people. The dining offering includes cocktails, punch, snacks and hot dogs - all in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Citybeach is a popular meeting place and much more than just beach fun. Even people with limited mobility can easily enjoy the beach thanks to barrier-free access via wooden walkways and aluminum ramps. The Citybeach is open from Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Overall, the organizers are looking forward not only to numerous visitors at the 16th edition of Citybeach, but also to putting on an environmentally friendly and sustainable event. The Citybeach is a piece of vacation in the city, and summer can begin!
