Things will be colorful and loud again in Salzgitter-Bad this weekend! From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the traditional old town festival invites visitors to experience the city center in all its splendor. The festival promises to be a true feast for the senses – with music, dancing, culinary delights and numerous attractions for the whole family. Already today, June 23rd, there is initial anticipation in the air.
A special highlight is the parade on Sunday, June 29th. It will start promptly at 1 p.m. on Petershagener Straße, near the Jugendbühne. The route runs through Kaiserstrasse and ends at Kirchplatz, where the celebrations continue on Marienplatz and Altstadtweg. "I have been part of the organizing team for ten years. The parade is always a big attraction for the residents," reports a member of the organizing team.
Diverse program
A varied program will be presented on the stages from 3 p.m. Numerous groups have registered and will create a great atmosphere with several hundred participants – from children to adults. This can be found among the registered groups Fanfare Oelber, the SZ-Bad volunteer fire department and that Groß Mahner music band. A real highlight will be the colorful mix, ranging from local customs to modern dance performances.
There is also a lot to discover for the little ones! A children's mile with bouncy castles, puppet theater and face painting promises unforgettable moments. The offering is rounded off by a blanket flea market for children. The entire festival is designed as a place of togetherness and celebration for all generations.
Extra bus rides and safety instructions
The KVG makes it easy for festival visitors to come to the Old Town Festival. From June 27th to 29th, additional buses will be used on routes 612 and 613. There will also be special trips at 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. from the “SZ-Bad, Bahnhof” stop for night-time return trips on Friday and Saturday. “We recommend securing a cheap day ticket early,” said a KVG spokesman.
Important to know: Kaiserstrasse and Bohlweg will be closed from June 26th to 30th at 12 p.m. and the corresponding stops will not be served. Alternatives are signposted so that arrival can be carried out without any problems.
For those who appreciate quiet moments, there will be a “Silent Hour” on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. during which there will be no musical performances. But then it continues with a colorful finale, which includes, among other things, a hit evening with the Merciful Platform Soles and a glam rock show by Chicago Lane. A magnificent fireworks display over Salzgitter-Bad will mark the end.
