Thiede, Deutschland - On June 16, 2025, the time has finally come: The inauguration of the new day care center Brotweg in Salzgitter is imminent. This modern facility will start operating in the third quarter and offers space for a total of 80 children. The construction project is an important project that is intended to sustainably improve the educational landscape in the Thiede district. In the daycare center, 30 crib children and 50 kindergarten children are looked after in four groups. The city of Salzgitter financed the new building with around 6.45 million euros, with the state of Lower Saxony supporting around 3.2 million euros from the integration fund.
The Mayor Frank Klingebiel emphasized the importance of the daycare center as an early educational institution and emphasized how decisive such projects are for the future of the district. Around 1,000 crèche and daycare places have been created in Salzgitter in the past ten years. The Caritas Association Salzgitter e.V. was won over as a carrier for the operation of the Kita Brotweg.
