Salzgitter shares soar despite quarterly losses!

Salzgitter AG is currently showing remarkable stability, despite challenges in the steel industry. On October 2, 2025, the Salzgitter share price rose by 3.1 percent to EUR 29.64. This comes despite the company having to absorb a loss of EUR 1.02 per share for the last quarter. The forecast for 2025 calls for a further loss of -1,509 EUR per share, highlighting the market conditions the industry is currently facing. The company recorded a decline in sales of 8.97 percent compared to the previous year, which amounted to EUR 2.34 billion, while sales in the previous year were EUR 2.57 billion. The criteria for further development are, above all, the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and the structure of costs, which could be influenced by the upcoming collective bargaining round in the steel industry. These statements come from a report by it-boltwise.

A look at the long-term prospects shows: the share price is approaching the 52-week high of EUR 29.80. The average price target for the Salzgitter share is currently EUR 25.92. Going forward, a dividend of EUR 0.176 is also expected for 2025, after a distribution of EUR 0.200 in 2024. These figures illustrate the challenges but also the potential for Salzgitter AG.

Steel industry statistics and data

The challenges and opportunities in the steel industry are also made clear in the Statistical Yearbook of the Steel Industry 2024/2025. This comprehensive work aims to make structural shifts within the industry visible. It contains important key figures and structural data in categories such as sales, production, delivery, energy and raw materials as well as foreign trade and market supply. The yearbook thus offers a valuable basis for classifying developments in Germany in a global context and is based on the published statistics of other institutions, in particular Worldsteel, as well as national official foreign trade statistics.
