Strengthening democracy: Uelzen event against hatred in politics
On November 13th, 2025, an event to strengthen democracy will take place in the Uelzen district hall in order to protect local politicians from hostility.

Strengthening democracy: Uelzen event against hatred in politics
A lively discussion about democracy education took place today in the district hall under the title “Strong democracy in the Uelzen district”. The aim of this important event was to sensitize participants on how to deal with hatred and incitement against local politicians. Active local politicians and people interested in politics came together from various communities to exchange ideas about this important topic.
The event was opened by Sabrina Boenschen, head of the district's education office. District Administrator Dr. Heiko Blume welcomed those present and thanked them warmly for their voluntary commitment. He pointed to “horrifying figures” that show the increasing hostility, insults and threatening letters against local politicians. “It is crucial that we promote fearless participation in politics,” emphasized Blume, who also encouraged the participants not to give up their local political commitment despite such hostility.
Workshops and shared exchange
In the workshops with the topics “Democratic culture of discussion” and “Well prepared for hatred and violence – impulses for strong local politics,” participants had the opportunity to share their own experiences and receive helpful tips for dealing with hostility. Central results of the workshops were presented in the forum. The lecture by Franziska Kind from the “Strong Democracy e.V.” association from Hamburg rounded off the exciting program and offered valuable inspiration. A special thank you went to the association and its speakers for their support and expertise.
The Uelzen/Lüchow-Dannenberg district adult education center is already planning further events on democracy education in order to further advance the topic and strengthen democratic culture. Joint exchange and practical support are particularly important here.
Technological innovations: G2 Smart Glasses
Another exciting trend is coming from the tech world: Even though it's not directly related to today's event, Even Realities' G2 Smart Glasses caused a stir at CES 2025. These glasses weigh only 36 grams, making them lighter than many competing products. Their design retains some elements of previous models and does not have any annoying cameras or speakers, making them acceptable for social use.
The G2 glasses offer an impressive battery life that lasts up to two days, and in combination with the charging case can even last up to two weeks without a power supply. With innovative functions such as an integrated teleprompt for scripts and a live translation function in 29 languages, it shows that technology is becoming more and more present in our everyday lives.
As with today's democracy education event, the open exchange and thoughtful design of the G2 Smart Glasses makes it clear that the future holds diverse possibilities in both politics and technology. The glasses are available for $599, while the accompanying R1 Smart Ring is offered for $249.
