A celebration of friendship: the fire brigade's youth district camp is enthusiastic!

Last weekend there was a lot of hustle and bustle on the sports field of the Uelzen gymnastics club and the SC 09 Uelzen. The district tent camp of the children's and youth fire brigades in the Uelzen district brought together an impressive 465 boys and girls who were able to experience a varied program this year under the direction of Oliver-David Badura from the Uelzen city youth fire brigade. The two days were all about sport, teamwork and new friendships.

The sporting activities that characterized this event included exciting competitions such as a twelve-field football tournament and a volleyball tournament. Participants were also treated to an exciting challenge in the form of a nighttime orientation march. During this march, the young people were able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in various tasks, which were supervised by the local armed forces of the Hanseatic city of Uelzen.

Diverse offers for boys and girls

In addition to the sporting activities, there was also a creative corner. In the popular craft tent, the children were able to create plaster figures, key rings and buttons. The camp newspaper was also a premiere, containing numerous interviews, reports and photo series, thus providing valuable memories. Another highlight was the blue light mile, where vehicles from the police, federal police, THW and the DRK rescue dog team were presented to the participants. The election of Mr. & Mrs. youth fire brigade wardens and the camp disco in the evening ensured an exuberant atmosphere.

A total of 30 children's and youth fire brigades were integrated into the tent camp. This opportunity to spend time and learn together was not only important for fun, but also strengthens cohesion and the bond with the fire department. That's why support like that is Community foundation for the Uelzen district, who presented a check for 2,000 euros, was of great importance. District Administrator Dr. Heiko Blume emphasized the relevance of this support during the check presentation to the district youth fire chief Sascha Wolff.

Food and excursions

Physical well-being was also not neglected during the camp. More than 3,600 rolls and over 30 kilograms of nut nougat cream were consumed. There were also exciting excursions on the program: the children's fire brigades explored the game gate in the city forest and went on an excursion on the subject of bats. All of these activities underline that leisure activities with the youth fire brigades are not only useful but also exciting.

At the end of the camp, the sporting successes were acknowledged. The 4th group from the Bevensen-Ebstorf community won and was named camp winner, followed by the Molzen and Eimke youth fire departments. All participants received a medal, and the supervisors were also recognized for their efforts. A new challenge cup was presented by District Administrator Dr. Heiko Blume donated it, and a Haribo box provided additional joy for the fire brigade teams.

The German Youth Fire Department is an important part of the community, with over 356,000 members and more than 18,300 youth fire departments nationwide. Through the diverse activities and the high level of community cohesion, children and young people not only learn to take responsibility, but also how to help others and get involved in society.
