Danger of thunderstorms in Bavaria: there is a risk of heavy rain and hail!
The sky is getting darker over Bavaria and, unlike a cozy barbecue evening, we are faced with unpleasant weather conditions. According to the latest information from AZ Online The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of violent thunderstorms and heavy rain that could hit the region in the coming days. A low pressure area over the British Isles is causing unsettled weather conditions and making the forecast appear bleak.
Already on Tuesday, September 2nd, many cities in Bavaria had to suffer from heavy rain and gusts of up to 60 km/h. The state capital Munich was not spared either; the overnight rain caused the streams to swell and the streets to become wet. The weather forecast for Wednesday, September 3rd promises that a friendly mix of sun and clouds will accompany the day. But the calm could be deceptive, because we will face further challenges until Friday, September 5th. It is expected to be partly cloudy to partly cloudy, with occasional showers possible.
Outlook for the coming days
Again Weather hazards The report shows that Thursday is particularly critical. A southwesterly current will bring warm sea air into the region, bringing the possibility of fog with visibility below 150 meters in southern Bavaria. From Thursday afternoon, meteorologists are also expecting thunderstorms, which could develop primarily in Franconia and then in Swabia. The heavy rain could bring up to 25 l/sqm in a short period of time, but severe weather developments with more than 40 l/sqm are also mentioned in the forecast.
Times are not carefree - local gusts of up to 80 km/h are possible and in the worst cases, citizens even have to expect hurricane-like gusts of 110 km/h. The weather situation in the southwest appears to be the most affected, confirming the forecast from the DWD, which announces its next update for Wednesday, September 3rd at 8:30 p.m.
Ending the week with sun?
Temperatures will remain stable above 20 degrees throughout the week, which gives hope for a mild September. However, we must not forget that Friday will again be marked by lots of clouds and heavy rain, so the anticipation for the weekend may be put to the test. However, there are bright prospects: temperatures could climb above 25 degrees at the weekend.
It remains to be seen whether we can look forward to sunshine after the rain in the next few days. So stay informed and adapt your plans accordingly - nature has its own laws and sometimes it's best to be a little patient.
