Fine out the record starter at the 40th AZ evening in Uelzen!

The 40th AZ evening in Uelzen not only conquered the hearts of the runners on June 14, 2025, but also set up a record record. A total of 2725 starters went on the track and ensured the second best result in the history of the event, only surpassed from 2017 with 2781 participants: inside. Jörg Deumann, the chief organizer, was overwhelmed by the great response. 200 replacement start numbers were kept ready to meet the high demand. The atmosphere was just great thanks to the moderation of Peter Hellström. He made sure that nothing was missing during the entire event and the mood was left out. The double victory of the SV Rosche in the main runs did not remain unnoticed. In the women, Jennifer Boehnke convinced with a time of 18:47 minutes, followed by Lisa Feuerherdt in 20:38 minutes. The men were also quickly traveling: Markus Lindner won in 17:17 minutes, followed by Dominic Bräuer, who finished in 17:53 minutes. In the long distance, Britta Giesen (W50) was the fastest with 47:27 minutes, while Christian Boohs dominated the male competition in long distance with 35:38 minutes. Women and men all ran remarkable times, despite the oppressive temperatures.

A special focus was also on the youngest participants in the trial run, which was organized for two -year -old children. Not only were the sporting performance in the foreground here: the oldest participants were also honored, the oldest runner of the day was an impressive 87 years old!

appreciation of schools and kindergartens

A highlight was the handover of the AZ school Cup to the Hermann Löns School Uelzen, which impressed with a number of participants of 71.06%. The Dibber daycare center on the star also received the AZ Kindergarten Cup for its high number of participants of 65%. These honors show how important the event is also for the local community and how it contributes to promoting awareness of health and sport.

The first city councilor Dr. Florian Ebeling took the opportunity to point out the high number of participants and gave practical running tips for the heat. His commitment shows that the run is not only a sporting event, but also a community event that is supported by the city.

Overall, the AZ evening of the evening shows that the local cohesion is great and that the enthusiasm for running has a high priority in Uelzen. This event remains a fixed date in the calendar of running enthusiasts and is already an exciting preview of the coming years.
