Hiker Günther Urbainsky: From Munich to Wilhelmshaven in 6 weeks!

Well, who's up for a little adventure? Günther Urbainsky did it! The passionate hiker embarked on an impressive journey from Munich to Wilhelmshaven. Over a period of six weeks, between 20 and 30 kilometers every day, he roamed Germany and rediscovered his love for nature. He had had the idea for this hike for several years and, after his retirement, made his first attempt four years ago, which was, however, marred by various setbacks, including meniscus pain and the wrong shoes.

His luck returned, and between May 12th and June 22nd, 2023 he was finally able to enjoy Germany's dream trails to the fullest. The route took him through a variety of fascinating cities: from Aichach via Ansbach and Würzburg to Rinteln and finally to Wilhelmshaven. Again and again he met helpful people who made his journey easier or found time for a conversation. Sometimes in a hotel, sometimes in a guesthouse - Urbainsky also made the most of his everyday life and washed his clothes while he was out and about.
