Grizzlies spectacularly defeat Ice Lions 4-0 – Strahlmeier shines!
In an exciting ice hockey game on Sunday, November 23, 2025, the Grizzlys showed Wolfsburg what they are made of. They were able to sweep the Dresden Ice Lions off the ice with a clear 4-0. The game took place in front of 4,112 enthusiastic spectators in the home arena. One reason for the victory was the outstanding performance of goalie Dustin Strahlmeier, who made some crucial saves.
The game couldn't have been more exciting. Strahlmeier parried a shot from Trevor Parkes in the eighth minute and thus secured support for his team. The first goal came in the 13th minute by Spencer Machacek, who cleverly deflected a shot from Tyler Gaudet. Shortly afterwards, Machacek had the chance to make it 2-0, but was denied by the strong reaction of Ice Lion goalie Jussi Olkinuora.
A dominant game from the Grizzlys
The second third was mainly due to the offensive presence of the Grizzlys, who created numerous chances but were unable to make anything countable of them. While the Ice Lions got stronger at the end of the third, Strahlmeier remained invincible and kept the box clean. Dresden also tried to apply pressure in the third period, but Parkes missed a great opportunity in the 42nd minute.
It took until the 48th minute when Matt White made it 2-0 after a counterattack. Just a minute later, Julian Chrobot increased it to 3-0 and Bobby Lynch topped it off in the 52nd minute when he extended the lead to 4-0 - and that with a double majority.
A look ahead to the next game
The next challenges await the Grizzlys on Wednesday when they meet the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven at 7:30 p.m. With this win behind them, Wolfsburg's self-confidence should have increased and they will do everything they can to shine in the next match. The Dresden team, on the other hand, has to regroup after this defeat and work to find their form again.
