VfL Wolfsburg U19 successfully starts the training camp in Wesendorf!

The U19s of VfL Wolfsburg have made an exciting new start to their summer training camp for the 2025/2026 season in Wesendorf. After six years in Opalenica, Poland, the team under the leadership of head coach Daniel Bauer now has the future-oriented conditions of the laVital Hotels available. The team arrived in familiar surroundings on Sunday afternoon and is already busy training again.

Daniel Bauer, who already gained experience as a player with 1. FC Magdeburg in Wesendorf, was enthusiastic about the “top” conditions that the location offers. What is particularly pleasing is that the training ground is located directly at the hotel, which allows the players to travel short distances and make optimal use of their time. This is particularly beneficial for the team as preparation for the coming season is a high priority.

Regeneration, fun and first successes

The first days of the training camp are all about regeneration, coupled with games and fun. The U19s have already had two intensive weeks of preparation and can build on this experience. On Saturday the team played their first test match against Arminia Bielefeld and won impressively 5-1. Head coach Bauer was particularly enthusiastic about the defensive work and the goals in the second half and spoke of a solid performance.

“We have prepared well and the boys know what they can do,” said Bauer optimistically. The training camp is also suitable for assessing the current situation: the academy teams have a reduced program due to the summer holidays, but performance comparisons are already on the agenda for the U19s. On Saturday there will be another comparison with Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Wolfsburg, an exciting challenge for the talented players.

Program and ideas for the future

Saturday will be an eventful day for the U19s: The U17s will play against SGV Freiberg in the Academy Arena, while coach Melanie Fink's U14s will play a friendly against FC-Astoria Walldorf on Thursday. The full overview of the games and tournaments is promising and shows how active the academy is in this phase:
